Broadstairs is widely known for its stunning beaches and boasts several sandy shores that are all individually wonderful. Viking Bay is the main beach and the perfect spot for swimming, sunbathing, and picnicking. It also gained the Seaside Award 2023 which celebrates the best beaches in England. Viking Bay was also the holiday destination of choice for Charles Dickens and he even wrote a piece on the town itself named ‘Our English Watering Place’. There are other beaches such as Stone Bay and Joss Bay which are both as beautiful, yet offer a quieter atmosphere for a more relaxed seaside experience.
