You also have shopping opportunities nearby, among other things you will find many different specialties of the small Danish island in the farm stores. Furthermore, a visit to Brummers Gaard is always an experience where you can enjoy a delicious meal, perhaps with a tasty steak from the exclusive Galloway cattle that are bred on the island. There you can also rent bicycles, sea kayaks, fishing nets and handcarts. Aarø's winery also invites you to spend a relaxing evening tasting the locally grown wine or arranging a wine tasting. Nature is also unique, and a large, unspoiled area is set aside as a bird sanctuary where you can take long walks. The ferry Helene docks at Aarø, which gives you a wonderful ride over 12 km of fjord to Haderslev. Haderslev is a charming old town with specialty stores, cultural events and museums.
